I was born in Chicago into a large creative family. I have been drawing horses since I was 4 years old, and even then knew I wanted to be an artist. As far back as I can remember, I have been sketching and painting and looking at the world with an artist's eye.  I attended the American Academy of Fine Arts in Chicago when I was 11 years old. I graduated from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, having doubled majored in Graphic design and fine art printmaking. I am also a wife, the mother of two girls, an equestrienne, and I love training dogs.

I offer a wide variety of subject matter in a bold, colorful and unique style. I like to paint realism, but strive to keep it loose with bold brushstrokes and vibrant colors.  I paint in oils and I also love to work with the spontaneity of watercolors.  Color, composition, form and light are the tools I play with to present the familiar subjects of still lifes, people, animals and landscapes, bringing life into the surroundings of the viewer, so that the work is not only my personal expression but also an extension of the viewer's personality.  Even simple still lifes offer an opportunity to play with light and unusual compositions. I hope I can be contemporary, and still honor tradition. I also believe that there is a certain geometry and or rhythm that am constantly looking for the balance between the abstract quality of a satisfying paint stroke versus the accumulation of paint strokes that add up the visual expression.
