I was born in Chicago into a large creative family. I have been drawing horses since I was 4 years old, and even then knew I wanted to be an artist. As far back as I can remember, I have been sketching and painting and looking at the world with an artist's eye. I attended the American Academy of Fine Arts in Chicago when I was 11 years old. I graduated from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, having doubled majored in Graphic design.
I don't want paint only what I see, but in a way that I want to see it, as a response to a world filled with amazing things I see every day. I like to paint realism, but strive to keep it loose with bold brushstrokes and vibrant colors.
